When December (2022) Comes....

Greetings and thank you for visiting The Florin Street Band's website in 2022! I am incredibly grateful for everyone's support and I continue to be amazed by the enthusiasm for the songs and videos, from people all over the world. There are dozens of renditions, cover versions and concerts being posted on YouTube, and it's so nice to know that the songs live on and are being enjoyed by so many people each Christmas.

I am often asked when the next video will be out, and if I had endless funds I would make one for each Christmas without a doubt. But streaming doesn't pay, and YouTube pays the least of any platform, so it's been very difficult to fund anything new in recent years. Fortunately though, The Florin Street Band is timeless, and I have been pursuing other projects this past few years knowing that I will return to it one day. In fact I have finished building a dedicated film studio in Bristol, U.K., where I may be able to create something new in the coming year. I still believe that a musical will be possible too, and I have lots of song ideas ready for that.

I am very grateful for every CD, DVD, and sheet music purchase, and especially the kind donations that some people have made - which are being held safely to be put towards the next production. When you consider that it takes 1-2 million Dollars to launch a new artist globally, and that the Christmas song is mainly the domain of well-known artists who already have a following, it's quite an achievement to have reached over 20 million YouTube views with practically no marketing budget. My Favourite Time of Year is regularly played on TV and radio around the world, and as more people share the videos each year, it has become better-known to a point where millions of people are now finding The Florin Street Band for the first time.

Please do keep sharing and enjoying the existing songs and videos, and I promise that one day there will be more - hopefully even an album in 2023. Wishing you a safe and Merry Christmas, Leigh :)
